I am a PhD student in archaeology studying Mesolithic mobility, social networks and potential territorial organization in southern Scandinavia. My project investigates the degree of sedentism, potential territorial patterns and the complexity of social networks among pre-Neolithic hunter-gatherer groups. The study is interdisciplinary, combining laser ablation strontium isotope analysis of teeth with studies of lithic technology and raw material use. It also includes the development of an extended strontium baseline for southern Scandinavia.
The work is based on my licentiate thesis, “Kulturkontakter i Sydskandinavien under mesolitikum” (Uppsala university, 2020). With a background in contract archaeology since 1998, my project is largely built on material collected in this context.
