My name i Markus Fjellström and I am a postdoctoral researcher at Lund University (2022-2024). I have a background in Archaeological science specialise din Saami archaeology studying diet, mobility and climate changes using stable isotope and elemental analysis. From 2020 to 2022 I was involved as a postdoctoral fellow in a larger project studying reindeer domestication processes from Late Iron Age until modern times. At Lund Univeristy, my project is mainly about reindeer (as well as other terrestrial and marine mammals) diet and mobility, as well as environmental changes during the Late Palaeolithic and the early Mesolithic in connection to changes of the ices and eventual land bridges to the Scandinavian peninsula. I this project I will approach reindeer and other mammals diet and migration patterns, and approach different aspects of environmental changes, through the use of different stable isotope anlaysis (carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, strontium and oxygen), as well as aDNA analysis
In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
