The course is structured as a project which starts with the planning and making of an inventory of an archaeological field project. During the next stage, students carry out various forms of field work, excavations, documenting the archaeology of buildings and carrying out analyses. Students are also provided with elementary information on GIS. Assemblages from field investigations are analysed and the results are presented in the form of reports. The course aims to reflect real situations as much as possible in planning, carrying out, reporting and evaluating various types of archaeological field projects.
